It started with a sore throat on Friday. But I wasn’t too concerned because my allergies had been bothering me all week.
I should have known something was up when I took a three-hour nap on Saturday while Mr. A was at the SATs and my Sweetie and G-Man were golfing, dozed during my pedicure, and then later shuffled through the grocery store answering , “I don’t know” to all of my Sweetie’s questions.
By Saturday evening I was fairly certain that I had a sinus infection and a trip to the doctor would be in order on Monday.
Sunday evening I managed to cook a new recipe for dinner. I couldn’t smell or taste a thing but the guys tell me that it was good.
When I woke up Monday morning I knew that it was more than a sinus infection. Usually, I can still function when I have sinusitis but this was different. I was sick. You know when you stand up and move around and you get dizzy, your heart races, you’re short of breath, and you’re clammy? I was that kind of sick.
I got to see my doctor first thing and got an antibiotic for the infection. For the rest of it I got directions to sleep. I felt that I needed a little bit more so I bought some donuts on the way home from the doctor’s office. Mr. A saw the donuts and commented, “Wow, Mom, you must really not feel good.”
I’ve been sleeping for the past two days almost non-stop. Sleeping with the box of tissues on the bed next to my head. If I had a laptop, I could have blog from my bed. Because the thought of getting up, going to the den, turning on the computer, and actually sitting up for any period of time wasn’t appealing. I was able to check email from my cell phone but I discovered that I was too tired to even open the messages. In reality, I guess a laptop wouldn’t have made a difference.
I must be feeling better now because I’m actually up and sitting at the computer. I haven’t gotten around to catching up on blogs yet. Baby steps.
The worst part of the past five days? My nose piercing is history. I won’t gross you out with the details but let’s just say that a sinus infection and a nose piercing don’t go well together. In fact, someone with nasal allergies really shouldn’t get their nose pierced. They don’t mention that in the brochure. So my rebellious period is over and out the window with my exoticness. Oh well.

Glad you are feeling better.
I am so glad you're doing better. I've been completely felled by allergies and sinus infection combos. Even though a nose ring wasn't exactly on my radar, I'm making a mental note now: I'm definitely not a candidate!
Glad you are back among the living. Too bad about the nose ring.
So glad your feeling some better. Sorry about the nose ring. I always wondered about that and allergies. So it's a no go for me. Hope your back to 100% soon.
Oh sweetie, feel better soon! Sending you chicken soup through the wires...
Oh no! Not the nose ring!!! A terrible casualty. I'm glad you're feeling better. No fun being sick, especially when it's over 90 degrees outside. Double doodoo. We missed you at Sanibel and know you'll come with us next time. Stay healthy.
I'm sorry you got sick! I hope you're on the mend and back up and at 'em very soon.
Also; bummer about the nose ring! They look so cool... but I'll take your word for it that it had to go. ;o)
Not that I was thinking of getting a nose ring, but now I know NOT to think about getting one! Thanks for the heads up!
